We are very honored to receive the certification “Tested and approved by seniors”. This label, created by AFNOR Certification in 2016, was developed in partnership with the Calyxis and Medialis laboratories. It is part of AFNOR Certification's commitment to “aging well” and improving the lives of seniors and their loved ones.

The “Tested and approved by seniors” certification allows seniors to know if a product is really adapted to their expectations. However, who better than a senior to know exactly what corresponds to him? For this reason, products that claim certification are directly tested by people over the age of 60. They are then evaluated by experts specialized in the uses of the elderly.

To qualify for the label, the product must meet several requirements. The score given to him by seniors must be greater than or equal to 7/10, the score given by the experts greater than or equal to 5/10 and the final result greater than or equal to 6/10. This is a weighted average, with the senior score accounting for 2/3 and the expert score for 1/3.

Lumeen was evaluated in January 2021 and has an overall score of 8.5/10, with a senior score of 8.1/10 and an Experts score of 9.3/10.

The assessment of Lumeen by seniors

The testers, volunteers and volunteers, find themselves confronted with the use of the product in a realistic reconstructed environment. Indeed, a usage scenario immerses each senior in daily activities, encouraging the manipulation of the product and its functionalities. Then, everyone evaluates the object according to a grid of 13 criteria to which they must assign a score of 0 to 10. Lumeen gets the following ratings:

The Lumeen usability test report concludes as follows:

“LSeniors highly appreciated this device, offering them a real feeling of relaxation and well-being. Users emphasized that they had a great experience. Indeed, the fact of being able to escape and travel to different landscapes allowed them to disconnect from their daily lives and their concerns..”

The latter also highlights the different reactions of seniors following the use of the Lumeen solution: “What a great experience! I was able to travel for a moment! ” explains Marcelle, 90.. Other testers say: “I didn't think I would have the chance to try such technology at my age” or ” Such technology could replace morphine! It did me a lot of good.”.

The evaluation of Lumeen by the experts

At the same time, independent ergonomists and occupational therapists analyze the quality of the product. To do this, they are based on a scientifically proven protocol and on the observation of the behavior of seniors during the test phase. Lumeen was evaluated according to 9 specific criteria, including ease of unpacking, ease of installation or use, and intuitiveness of handling. Here are the scores obtained:
