This Friday, October 22, the Smart Deal Innovation Award ceremony was held in nursing homes. This call for projects, set up by the Department of Alpes-Maritimes, aims to promote technological innovation in establishments. In this process of building the 21st century nursing home, Lumeen was the most popular solution.

Lumeen deployed in 17 nursing homes in Alpes-Maritimes

“You should not add years to life but life to years.” It was with this quote from J.F. Kennedy that Charles Ange Ginésy, president of Alpes-Maritimes, began his speech. How to do it?

The winners of Smart Deal Innovation in nursing homes were announced this Friday at the Nice hemicycle. Out of 52 candidates, 42 public, private and associative nursing homes in the Department were selected. Spread over 20 municipalities in Marseille, all of them will test the deployment of innovative digital solutions, including Lumeen, meeting the concrete daily needs of residents and healthcare staff.

A Department committed to aging well

The Department of Alpes-Maritimes has announced its desire to finance, for more than 500,000€, innovation in nursing homes. On 27 August 2020, it therefore launched a call for projects to support the deployment of technological innovations in these establishments.

‍

Sixteen innovative solutions aimed at improving the quality of life of residents and the working conditions of professionals have been selected. Of these, Lumeen was the most requested and was deployed in 17 establishments in the Department.

‍

Divided into 6 categories (digital animation, virtual animation, interactive TV, interactive TV, multisensory experience, home automation, and teleconsultation), the solutions aim for numerous benefits: improving the quality of life, development, health and sleep, stimulating memory and the senses, stimulating memory and the senses, helping with motor or cognitive rehabilitation, helping with motor or cognitive rehabilitation, risk prevention, strengthening relationships with loved ones or even promoting digital inclusion. Lumeen fits into the “virtual entertainment” category and directly meets the needs of improving the well-being and quality of life of our seniors.

Innovations for residents but also for caregivers!

While primarily intended to improve the well-being of residents, these innovations do not leave healthcare teams behind. Working conditions in nursing homes are not always easy and solutions must be proposed to improve them. Thanks to the implementation of these new technologies, healthcare personnel will gain in care efficiency, in the quality of exchange with residents and in working comfort.

With Lumeen, we made sure to include caregivers at the heart of our approach. Our tool is aimed at seniors but it is also an added value for caregivers, who can benefit directly from it.
