Med4Age: clinical research for our virtual reality solution!

The start of the school year is full of successes for Lumeen. Today, we are happy to announce that we are the winners of the Med4Age call for projects! The award will allow us to launch our first clinical research to scientifically assess the benefits of our therapeutic virtual reality solution.

Funded by AG2R La Mondiale and organized by Medicalps, this national competition aims to accelerate the emergence of innovative solutions for health and aging well. We were selected from more than 100 applications and obtained funding of 95,000 euros. This prize will be used to finance our first clinical study with the Institute of Aging at the Hospices Civils de Lyon. This first step in our clinical research strategy will scientifically assess the impact of our virtual reality tool on behavioral disorders in dependent elderly people.

The Institute of Aging of the Hospices Civils de Lyon has been collaborating for several years with external partners in order to offer intra and extra-hospital patients non-drug interventions in order to improve their quality of life. Virtual reality as offered by Lumeen offers an unprecedented opportunity to help elderly people improve their daily well-being through immersions in relaxing visual and sound environments. This new technology should quickly find an important place in the workshops offered to elderly people, whether they are aimed at relaxation or stimulation. The study, conducted with the support of AG2R, will assess the importance of the effects of Lumeen on the well-being and anxiety of elderly people with or without cognitive disorders.”

Prof. Pierre Krolak-Salmon, neurologist, geriatrician and Medical Director of the Institute of Aging and Floriane Delphin-Combe, Psychologist specialized in neuropsychology, clinical study manager.

Our desire is to collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop the tools of tomorrow. Then, we set up partnerships with recognized hospital teams to scientifically validate the impact of our programs. This first study is an important step in our development.

We are very happy with the trust placed in us by the Med4Age juries and we thank the Medicalps and AG2R teams for their support and kindness.
