A partnership with the Cirque d'Hiver Bouglione!

The Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione, the world’s oldest circus, represents more than 160 years of tradition and magic. It also brings back many memories for elderly people were able to follow *La Piste aux Étoiles* during its 22-year run on French television. We are proud to announce our partnership with this circus icon!

One goal: to make culture accessible to underserved audiences
Following our collaboration with the Atelier des Lumières, the Centre des Monuments Nationaux, and the SNCF, this marks another step toward our goal of making cultural heritage and culture more accessible to people with limited mobility. The Cirque Bouglione team was very supportive of our mission and helped us achieve it by opening the doors of its famous big top in the Temple neighborhood of Paris for its latest show: “Dingue!”

Unfortunately, this spectacular show was short-lived. Following government announcements, the circus had to close its doors to the public in October, just nine days after the show’s premiere. We were fortunate to be able to film during that brief period, with our cameras positioned as close as possible to the ring and the performers to create an even more immersive experience.
Several acts from the show are already available in the Getaway module Getaway our solution. You’ll find Totti the clown, tightrope walkers, and performers who handle ribbons and hoops with precision! Throughout 2021, we’ll be releasing the show’s other acts to continue delighting our users: acrobats, dance, juggling, animal training, and shadow puppetry—there’ll be something for everyone!

A collaboration that benefits everyone
We’d like to extend a special thank you to Fabrice Bing from the Cirque Production Office. Passionate about new technologies and collecting memories, he was immediately open to the idea of capturing original footage of the show using 360-degree cameras. He explains: “The project truly served a purpose. We’ve just gone through several lockdowns during which live performances were no longer possible. For us, this represented an opportunity to preserve a record of the show and make it accessible to audiences who could no longer experience it in person. It was this idea of sharing that appealed to us.”
This collaboration has therefore been rewarding in every way. Today, many elderly people limited mobility can enjoy this fantastic show and marvel every day at reliving the circus of their youth through their virtual reality Headsets . The Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione also has a very special video recording of a show that ran for only a few days but has now been immortalized forever by Lumeen’s cameras.
We would like to thank the entire team at the Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione for their warm welcome, especially during this time, which is having a huge impact on the performing arts industry.
