A medical device is a tool used for medical purposes but is not a drug. As such, digital medical devices such as Lumeen are a perfect fit for the non-drug therapies (NDT) promoted by the French National Authority for Health (HAS) since 2011.

Lumeen is among the European pioneers to obtain a medical device 1 medical device CE marking for a virtual reality solution virtual reality therapeutic use. To obtain this certification, we drew on an international literature review comprising 24 references. This will be supplemented by our ongoing clinical investigations. In the hospital setting, numerous studies show a reduction inanxiety pain and pain surgery, allowing for a reduction in premedication.

A clinical validation process conducted in collaboration with renowned scientists

Launched in late 2018, our clinical validation strategy is gaining momentum. We have established research partnerships with major hospital centers such as the Hospices Civils de Lyon and the Hôpitaux de Paris, as well as academic partners such as the University of Paris and the Gérontopôle Ile-de-France. Two research projects are currently underway, and three others are in the protocol drafting stage.

In addition to strengthening our scientific credibility, this certification will streamline our research collaborations. Indeed, CE marking helps speed up the process of having protocols approved by ethics committees.
